Rescue Diver
Rescue Diver
The PADI Rescue Diver course will equip you with the skills and knowledge to deal with any diving emergency using a variety of techniques. Through knowledge development and rescue exercises, you will learn what to look for, how to respond, and how to prevent accidents. You will put your knowledge and skills into practice during rescue scenarios.
To qualify, you must be at least 12 years old, hold a PADI Adventure Diver certification or higher (or a qualifying certification from another organisation), have completed the Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive and maintain a current first aid and CPR certification.
What Will You Learn?
Learn and practice ten rescue skills with your instructor in our pool and in the open water. This will teach you how to recognize, respond, evaluate and prevent both panicked and unresponsive divers.
Day 1: Watch the PADI Rescue Diver DVD in our classroom and complete five knowledge development sections from the PADI Rescue Manual. Review everything with your PADI instructor, and take the PADI Rescue Diver exam. After this you will be ready to practice self-rescue skills in our pool.
Day 2: Practice the complete ten rescue exercises with the help of your instructor in open water, and make an Emergency Assistance plan for a dive site.
Day 3 : You will complete two simulated rescue scenarios:
Scenario 1: Rescue an unresponsive diver underwater.
Scenario 2: Respond to an unresponsive, non-breathing diver floating on the surface in open water.
Your new knowledge and techniques will give you the expertise you may need to handle and prevent almost any emergency.
