PADI Divemaster
Divemaster
To become a PADI Divemaster, you must study the knowledge sections. At our dive centre, you learn practical skills with your personal PADI instructor. You can do the theory part of the course online or at the Dive Centre. It covers nine topics that prepare you for the practical sessions needed to complete the Divemaster course.
What are the prerequisites?
- Certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver and PADI Rescue Diver or qualifying certification from other training organization
- Be 18 years old
- Logged 40 scuba dives
- Completed EFR Primary and Secondary Care training within 24 months
- Medically evaluated and cleared for diving by a phisician within 12 months
What Will You Learn?
Knowledge development
Dive Theory and Dive Standards are taught through classroom sessions and self-study to prepare you for your final Divemaster Exam. We offer great flexibility in our lectures and exams, as we want our Divemaster candidates to succeed.
Consider taking Dive Theory Online, a PADI eLearning programme that guides you step-by-step through diving physics, physiology, skills, equipment and environment, plus a Recreational Dive Planner (RDP) review. This structured approach ensures you are well-prepared, and by successfully completing Dive Theory Online, you can earn credit for half of the Divemaster final exam.
General diving, swimming and skills abilities
You will be required to complete the following to certify as a PADI Divemaster:
- 400m swim/800m snorkel/100m tired diver tow/15min float/rescue assessment
- Equipment exchange
- Multiple skill circuits to improve demonstration quality and problem solving
- Workshops in navigation, search and recovery, deep diving, mapping, dive site briefings, guiding certified divers
- Tour leader on our day trip boat, dive shop duties, emergency planning
Dive activities – Certified Divers
Learn the logistics of our dive operation, including how to guide and organise day trips and run our retail shop day-to-day. Accompany our senior instructors as they guide certified divers, supervise snorkelers, and refresh the skills of divers who haven’t dived in a while.

Assisting Instructors in teaching other PADI courses is a crucial step in your training. All 4 Diving Academy starts several courses every day, so there are plenty of opportunities to assist at all levels of training. This part of the training is essential for developing problem-solving skills and giving constructive feedback to students, which will improve your skills as a professional diver.
