Amed is renowned for its diverse and captivating sites offering various underwater experiences, from coral gardens to shipwrecks. Snorkelling in Amed will give you a unique experience with a traditional fisherman’s boat belonging to the locals. Although, some of the sites could also be reached by shore entry. Here are some of the popular snorkel sites you might encounter in Amed:
Pyramids Snorkeling:
The Pyramids snorkeling site is named for its artificial reefs shaped like a pyramid. However you can not see these pyramids while snorkeling, it is still worth a jump into the water. There are gentle, sandy slopes adorned with hard coral formations that provide a beautiful backdrop for underwater exploration. Snorkelers can glide over these slopes while observing colorful reef fish, playful triggerfish, and curious octopuses that often camouflage themselves within the coral. Sea turtles are a common sight here, adding an extra thrill for those exploring the thriving coral landscape. The peaceful, clear waters at Pyramids make it a top snorkeling destination in Amed for nature lovers seeking to witness Bali’s rich marine biodiversity.
Jemeluk Bay Snorkeling
Jemeluk Bay is another remarkable snorkeling site in Amed, known for its stunning wall drop-off and flourishing artificial reefs. These structures attract a wide range of marine species and vibrant corals, offering snorkelers a captivating underwater journey. The sea fans along the wall create a picturesque scene, where trumpetfish and colorful nudibranchs find their homes. Turtles are frequently spotted here, moving gracefully through the clear waters, while artificial reefs provide additional habitats that enhance Jemeluk’s marine diversity.
Please note that the specific sites visited during the day trip may vary depending on factors like weather conditions and currents.
