A PADI Assistant Instructor is a step up the PADI professional ladder. It’s a great way to begin learning the PADI System of diverse education and to assume limited teaching responsibilities. It’s also a great way to gain experience to become an Open-Water Scuba Instructor!
This program counts towards the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) and allows you to gain experience as an Assistant Instructor before committing to the IDC.
What are the prerequisites?
- Certified diver at least 6 months
- Certified as PADI Divemaster
- 18 years old
- At least 60 log dives including night, deep and navigation
What Will You Learn?
The PADI Assistant Instructor Course, which is taught over one week, is designed to engage you in theory, knowledge development, confined water, and open water sessions. The course is structured into 3 modules; academic training, independent study, and practical application. As a PADI Assistant Instructor, you will be actively involved in teaching academic skills, presenting confined water skills, evaluating Open Water Diver surface skills, and much more under the supervision of a PADI Instructor, ensuring an active and engaging learning experience.
Your PADI Assistant Instructor course is conducted by experienced staff who have trained hundreds of divers and can give you the best course and foundation for starting to teach.
